Doors closed

Security measures or abuse? Internet use deprivations on the University are serious, you can barely surf the web, forums, social networks, chat services and more. Everything blocked from the inside.

What are they afraid of?
This is obviously a wrong way to handle internet misuse by students. We are in the age of communication and this is a tecnological university, so I think this measure doesn't make any sense. Internet is a tool and shouldn't be forbbiden.

A good way to manage this would be:
The appropriate training to students for proper use of Internet within the rules established by the university, but at the same time the establishment should serve as a tool for students to contact family members through the chat services (as many students belong to other cities
), organize events related to the establishment with a wise use of social networks (such as sports or benefical events) and be able to get material and applications necessary for student's career.
